New IAEMSC Board Members to Serve Two-Year Terms

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The International Association of Emergency Medical Services Chiefs (IAEMSC) announced the results of its 2016 election of officers. The latest association officers were seated on March 27 and will serve two-year terms. The officers and At-Large Directors were elected from an impressive group of qualified candidates. Chief Paul Brennan, Lawrence General Hospital EMS (MA, USA) ascends to the position of IAEMSC President (2018) after serving his term as President Elect. The remaining elected officials include:


  • President Elect, Peter Dworsky, MONOC EMS (NJ, USA)
  • Vice President, Brendan Kearney, Boston EMS (MA, USA)
  • Treasurer, Christian Callsen, Austin/Travis County EMS (Ret. TX, USA)
  • Secretary, Daniel Gerard, Alameda City EMS (CA, USA)

Board of Directors (At Large):

  • Scott Cormier (2018), Pittsburgh EMS (Ret. PA, USA)
  • Robert McCaughan (2018) Pittsburgh EMS (Ret. PA, USA)
  • Andrew Wordin (2018), Los Angeles City Fire Department (CA, USA, Metro Chiefs’ Section Chair)
  • David Mitchell (2018), Arvada Fire Protection District (CO, USA, appointed to serve a one-year term to complete the remaining year of Chief Peter Dworsky’s term on the board after his election to President Elect)


The International Association of EMS Chiefs (IAEMSC) is a non-profit professional association established to support, promote and advance the leadership of response entities and to advocate for the EMS profession. The IAEMSC membership consists of leaders from both career and volunteer EMS organizations, representing a diverse group of public and private EMS agencies that respond to over 6.2 million emergencies and transport nearly 3.3 million patients each year. The IAEMSC hosts an annual EMS Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. The 2016 Summit will be held December 12-15, 2016 in Washington, D.C.
