Chief Darren Sandbeck (Alberta, Canada) || Director at Large

Darren Sandbeck is currently the Senior Provincial Director and Chief Paramedic with Alberta Health Services, the single provincial health authority in the Province of Alberta. In this role Darren is responsible for EMS operations of 4000 staff and over 500 vehicles. He also is responsible for development of Paramedic profession through education and professional development. Darren has over 30 years experience in EMS as a practitioner and a leader. He has held senior leadership roles in both municipal and health system EMS models.

Darren holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University as well as a Health Care Administration diploma from the University of Saskatchewan. Darren has served in Board and Executive capacities on numerous provincial and national organizations including:
